In addition to years of direct clinical experience working with chronic pain and illness, Dr. Steiner has supervised clinical training in pain psychology and clinical health psychology for more than 20 different psychologists in training.  Dr. Steiner is an expert in pain psychology and has published multiple scholarly articles on coping with chronic pain and illness, and presented on these topics at international, national, and regional professional conferences.  Dr. Steiner also conducts workshops on psychological interventions for chronic pain and various types of pre-surgical psychological assessments. 

Given that chronic pain and illness have a complex relationship with mental health, many psychologists and counselors who are new to this subspecialty find it helpful to consult with others.  Dr. Steiner welcomes the opportunity to share her expertise with other clinicians so that we can make the greatest impact on the lives of others.
